Credit Card Spending On the Rise

New Zealanders’ credit card spending increased last month, especially on fuel.
On November 09th Statistics New Zealand published a new report on Electronic Card Transactions in New Zealand over the month of October, showing that retail card spending has increased over the course of the month.
According to Statistics New Zealand, retail spending via electronic cards rose by 0.4 percent in October.
The most significant increase in spending was on fuel, which rose by 1.6 percent, and durables, which rose by 0.7 percent.
Core retail spending was found to have increased by 0.2 percent during the month.
